Article Marketing - Ideas Are Everywhere!

Article marketing is a phenomenon that was born out of the need to establish credibility on the internet. To be credible is to be believable, to be trustworthy. Because the internet is a large, generally anonymous population, trust is a key factor in getting a customer to agree to a purchase. Article marketing developed as a platform for authors to write about their expertise, and thus prove themselves trustworthy in order to make sales.

However, it is generally agreed that it takes many, many articles to have an impact on the internet community that brings sales. Some research says that 250 quality, keyword-rich articles is the threshold that opens the floodgates of traffic to your offer. That many good articles seems daunting in number! How does an author find so many topics to write about? Following are some suggestions as to where ideas may be found for your article marketing needs.

As you begin your day, do you have the news on? Focus your thoughts on how a news item may be related to the topics you write about. Perhaps a news item points out the need for your product, or the problem of going without it. As you move to your computer, is there a Yahoo or MSN tidbit that might make a good article title and fit in with your niche? Be aware of the possibilities. Check your email, and see if a note from a friend or a forwarded story could be the foundation for an article. Before you leave your computer, why not think of a question whose answer would make good article marketing, and send a survey out to your friends or email list? The answers you receive might fill a small report, built on a series of articles you write.

Where do you travel during the day? Where do you see other people? Listen to their complaints and problems and joys with an ear to formulating articles that tell a story. The story of course would be how your product was the perfect solution to a problem many people have. There are stories all around you: at the store, at the office, at the gym, at school. Interact, ask questions, and develop the habit of listening and connecting your product with the needs of others.

Think of the most interesting person you’ll meet today, and interview that person on a topic for your article marketing. The interview will greatly expand your viewpoint, and may lead to an interview with your subject’s colleagues. One question leads to another, and if you are interested and interesting, the path to more information might end up in surprising places. And you can record it all with your article marketing.

At the end of the day, if you turn on the TV, use it to broaden your search for relevant article topics. Instead of mindless watching, be active in jotting ideas, writing down quotes humorous and serious, and brainstorming article titles. Between the news and the commercials, you can find more than a few ideas for your article marketing.

Live with your eyes open, ask questions, and listen to the lives around you, and you will not lack topics for your articles. It will no longer be difficult to write the number of articles you need to see the sales you want.
